Esports news Leviatán Esports
In brief:
The cyber sports organisation Leviatan Esports was founded in late 2020 in Argentina by current CEO Fernando Diezem. In doing so, the club began to gain momentum very quickly, rapidly opening line-ups in popular eSports disciplines.
Already in early 2021, Leviatan Esports assembled its first CS:GO, Rainbow Six and League of Legends teams. In the course of the year, the Argentine organization also expanded its reach to Rocket League and mobile disciplines. Moreover, at the same time, the first VALORANT team was assembled, becoming a prominent player on the competitive scene.
However, the crisis and serious financial problems around the industry forced the club to reconsider its approach, in particular dropping CS:GO, Rainbow Six and Rocket League line-ups. Still, Leviatan Esports manages to remain a prominent representative of Latin America, distinguished by its unique approach to development through a long-term strategy.
Thus, Leviatan Esports is a great example of how a small club in just a few years has managed to grow into a prominent representative of its region, managing to establish itself among the best in the scene.
History of the emergence and development of the Leviatan Esports VALORANT team
In November 2021, Leviatan Esports decided to form their first VALORANT squad, signing the former Australs backbone of adverso, kiNgg, Melser, Tacolilla and VaiZ. Despite a late season, the squad quickly established themselves by winning the VALORANT Defenders LAS 2021.
However, Leviatan Esports' real breakthrough came at the start of the new season when the Argentine club signed coaching staff rival KRU Esports. Despite winning the VCT 2022: LAS Stage 1 Challengers, the team failed to travel to the Masters in Reykjavik as they lost to their main rival in the playoffs.
However, in the second half of the season, Leviatan Esports managed to win the VCT 2022: LATAM Stage 2 Challengers Playoffs and qualify for their first LAN tournament.
Already in Copenhagen, the Latin American squad had proved their mettle by reaching the quarter-finals of the lower decider. At the next VALORANT Champions 2022 the team made the playoffs again but had to face LOUD and FunPlus Phoenix.
However, immediately after the Championships, the story of Leviatan Esports found a new vector as the organisation was destined to be part of a partnership programme launched by Riot Games.
Present and future of the Leviatan Esports team
At the end of 2022, Leviatan Esports managed to get into the ranks of partners of the American League. Thus, the club became one of the two representatives of Latin America, who was awarded permanent membership in major league competitions.
Of course, this scenario led to some restructuring which only affected some of the team. However, already in the off-season, Leviatan Esports managed to prove its worth by winning the Valorant LATAM Gods.
Furthermore, they made a spectacular showing in the VCT 2023: LOCK/IN São Paulo where they reached the quarter-finals, losing only to Natus Vincere.
Now Leviatan Esports wants to make a name for themselves in the American league, where they are competing against North American and Brazilian teams as well as their arch rival KRU Esports. Furthermore, the team will try to return to the LAN tournaments which take place at the end of the season. Given their strong roster and experienced coaching staff, Leviatan Esports remain among the favorites in their league and will fight for honors.
