Finn «karrigan» Andersen is one of the most experienced gamer in competitive Counter-Strike. The representatives of the old school of the Danish Counter-Strike, the thirty-year-old Finn has already played for numerous prestigious clubs and has already been a captain in most of them. Let us focus your attention on the development of karrigan as an esportsman.
Beginning of Career
As the majority of esportsmen, Finn started his way to the top of the competitive stage long before he got to the professional organization. In his early childhood karrigan spent a lot of time in computer clubs playing computer games. That was the place where he was introduced to Counter-Strike.
In the period before Global Offensive, Finn had played for lots of teams. They include Volt-Gaming, wooSai.dk, DSRack, Spirit of Amiga, Full-Gaming, mousesports, and Fnatic. karrigan’s most successful teams playing the previous versions of Counter-Strike were mousesports and fnatic. Together with them, the gamer played at a dozen of tournaments including ESL Pro Series Germany: Winter 2011, Copenhagen Games 2013, DreamHack Summer 2012, GameGune 2012, Pro Gamer Series Exponor 2012, DreamHack Bucharest 2012, and others.
Having a successful career in Counter-Strike, karrigan moved to a new version where he continued playing for Fnatic.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
The first club in the new version for karrigan was the club Fnatic. However, Finn did not manage to achieve the previous results. In December 2012, karrigan joined another team – mousesports – where he tried to repeat the former success. It did not turn out well.
In May 2013, karrigan again returned to Fnatic for the last time. Having taken 3-4 place at ESL Major Series One – Summer 2013, Finn left the club searching for a new home. He found it in Playing Ducks but did not spend more than two months there.
In September 2013, karrigan became a n!faculty gamer where he also did not stay for a long time. Then he joined Reason Gaming and LeftoverZ but in those teams karrigan did not find his place.
In June 2014, karrigan moved to Copenhagen Wovels where he played for four months. There he demonstrated mediocre results playing at prestigious tournaments from time to time. In October, he again played for mousesports as a substitute but he spent only two months there and after that moved to Team Dignitas.
Team Dignitas, Team SoloMid, and First Success in CS:GO
In December 2014, karrigan became a member of Team Dignitas and immediately won the qualifiers for MLG Aspen Invitational.
In January 2015, the team finished in third place of the championship, after that the roster joined Team SoloMid.
Playing for TSM, karrigan and the team won 99Damge Masters, after that in March 2015 teh gamer took 5-8 place at ESL One: Katowice. However the results did not knock the team down, quite the contrary. In the same month, the team won CS: GO Championship Series Kick-off Season: Group Stage, after that he took third place at StarLadder StarSeries XII. Later they won second place at Copenhagen Games 2015 and 3-4 place at ESL Pro League I.
In April 2015, the team started a series of rather successful performances. They won PGL CS: GO Championship Kick-off Season, FACEIT League 2015 Stage I Finals, Alienware Area 51 Cup #2, and Fragbite Masters Season 4. TSM became a Tier-1 team rather fast. However, the collective was unable to express themselves at the main championships – Major tournaments. The team took 3-4 place at ESL One: Cologne 2015 and 5-8 place at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015. The last tournament for karrigan as a member of TSM was FACEIT 2015 Stage 3 Finals.
In December 2015, karrigan and his teammates got the name Team Question Mark.
Team Question Mark, Astralis and Looking for Himself
Playing for Team Question Mark, karrigan and his teammates looked for a constant organization. They took part in prestigious championships demonstrating good results. In January 2016, they created the team Astralis, and, consequently, got the status of one of the best teams in the history but without karrigan. In Astralis, karrigan was playing from January till October 2016. He again could not win a Major tournament. In Astralis, karrigan took 3-4 place at MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 and 5-8 place at ESL One: Cologne 2016. The last tournament for Finn in Astralis was ESL Pro League Season 4 – Finals which was failed by the team in the tenth position.
FaZe Clan, Mousesports, and Individual Achievements
In October 2016, karrigan became a gamer in FaZe Clan. The first results happened only in 2017. In April 2017, the team won StarLadder I-League StarSeries Season 3, in September won ESL One: New York 2017, in October won ELEAGUE CS: GO Premier 2017. In December, FaZe got a victory at Esports Championship Series Season 4 – Finals.
In May 2018, the team won Intel Exteme Masters XIII – Sydney, and one month later, the gamers became the winners at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018. But the gamers were not lucky at the world championships. In January 2018, he stopped one step away from the desirable status losing against Cloud9 at the additional rounds on the third map.
In March 2019, karrigan again became a mousesports gamer. Since then, he has managed to win several prestigious championships including CS:GO Asia Championship 2019, ESL Pro League Season 10 – Finals, and ICE Challenge 2020.
In his career, karrigan won dozens of championships but wasn’t able to become a world champion. He got to Top 10 of the best gamers in 2011 according to HLTV taking the eighth place. In his career, karrigan has earned over 974,000 dollars of grabs.
