Patch 7.32e is out in Dota 2 - Meet Muerta, a new minigame and an update to the Dota settings
Yuriy SheremetOn the night of 7 March, Valve finally released patch 7.32e. The game received the long-awaited update, but Valve wouldn't be themselves if they met the community's expectations.
Global changes to the map and game mechanics with patch 7.32e did not follow: it was saved for "late April 2023". The main new feature of the 7.32e update was Muerta.
The character became the 124th hero of Dota 2 and the 12th original hero from Valve. Along with the release of Muerta on the battlefield of the Ancients, in Dota 2 there is a new "event", changed the interface and fine-tuned the system settings. Also improved the balance of characters, but first things first.
New hero - Muerta
Muerta is a ranged hero with the main attribute "Intelligence". Valve describe the hero as Carry, Nuker and Disabler.
The developers, of course, know better, but so far the character's role is not fully understood. Muerta has 3 active abilities, including ultimates, and a passive ability similar to Maelstorm or Battle Fury.
Muerta's Skills
- Dead Shot.
Launches a ghostly bullet at an enemy unit or tree. Upon reaching the target, the bullet deals damage and slows, then ricochets off in the chosen direction.
- The Calling
Muerta summons 4 spirits that circle around the target area. Enemies in the area are slower to move and attack. The ghosts deal damage and cast silence when touched.
- Gunslinger
When attacking, Muerta has a chance to fire a random shot. Enemy characters are a high priority target.
- Pierce the Veil
Muerta takes on an ethereal form. The hero becomes invulnerable to physical damage and can pass through units.
When using the Ultimax ability, Muerta's attacks become magical, allowing her to attack ethereal units but not to deal damage to magic immune units.
Muerta's appearance in Dota 2 and Patch 7.32e was a major event, so a new minigame has been added to the game along with the character. It's called "Who's Faster, Who's Alive".
New mini-game: Who's Faster, Who's Faster Alive.
In the new minigame, players have to collect Muert flowers. These flowers can later be exchanged for in-game rewards.
The special event will run from March 6 to April 4. What happens to the unspent points after the end of the mini-game is unclear.
Description of the minigame "Who's faster, who's more alive"
Muerta needs help, someone has to send the unfortunates to their graves... This is where you come in handy! Before each game, you'll be assigned a target to kill. But beware, they're after your head too and whoever gets the most points wins double the reward!
Kills or assists during a Dota match earn you a Muert-y flower. At the end of a match, the number of flowers received will increase if the player scores more points than the marked victim.
The points earned can be exchanged for new Dota 2 treasure chests - Dead Reckoning Chest. Each chest costs 2 flowers and holds 16 sets.
New Chest - Dead Reckoning Chest
Where in the patch and without cosmetics? There are 16 sets of character items in the new treasure chest.
The chests can be purchased for rewards from the "Who's Faster, Who's Alive" event, but the keys to the treasure chests are for a fee. One key to a Dead Reckoning Chest costs $2.5
or 20,000 Dota Plus shards.
All Dead Reckoning Chest items are divided into 3 tiers. Tier-3 quality items have 8 sets, Tier-2 has 6 sets, and Tier 3 has 2 sets.

In addition to cosmetic innovations, Dota has updated aspects of the user experience. Changes have been made to quick spell usage settings, the interface, and Patch 7.32e added more stats for Dota Plus users.
More stats for Dota Plus users
Dota Plus users now have access to more advanced game analytics. All data will be displayed in real-time.
You can group your stats by Lasthit, GPM and more. In addition, statistics can be tracked for a specific time period: week, month, 3 months or year.
Personalized Quick-Cast Spell Bar Settings
Users who use Quick-Cast can now manually customize each individual spell. The same mechanic has been added for items.
For all abilities and inventory slots, the "used by pressing" or "used by pressing" option can be selected when activating quick spells.
Improvements to Friends List
You can now group your friends in the Dota 2 menu. You can give a friend "Favorite" status, which allows you to create more convenient filters.
Changes in turbo mode and other updates
Turbo mode has undergone a major redesign. In the future, Valve promises to improve the popular mod, but for now the following changes are made:
- All player-selected heroes are now hidden
- Removed the penalty time at hero selection stage. At the end of basic time, the player will get the hero that he highlighted, but did not choose. If the player doesn't have a hero to choose from, they'll get a random hero.
- Bonuses from Null Talisman, Wraith Band and Bracer now double at 12:00 instead of 25:00.
- Summoned creatures no longer deal extra damage to towers. Creeps on the line and creatures summoned still deal increased damage compared to other modes.
- Characters can now get a maximum of two stars for testing, instead of one.
In addition, the animations for characters with Arcane items have been updated and allowed for challenges that unlock alternate item styles.
Character and item changes in patch 7.32e
In addition to the release of Muerta and its associated event, as well as interface improvements, cosmetic updates and other innovations, character balance has been reworked in patch 7.32e. Almost all heroes were affected by the changes, but most of them are minor in nature, not affecting anything.
An obvious nerve has found its way into the main characters of Lima Major 2023. So, for example, Lina got the weakening of 3 main abilities at once, as well as the nerve of talents, and Treant Protector will heal less.
An analysis of the key changes in Dota 2 in patch 7.32 you will find in a separate article. You can also take a look at the key item redesigns (spoiler: the Meteor-Hammer appears to be broken).
Patch 7.32e promised to be a global one, but Valve took a different path. They decided to let the pro teams play a second round of DPC in a more familiar format, albeit with balance tweaks.
The next major patch is promised to be released "later in April", apparently before Berlin Major 2023. The new patch will be numbered 7.33, which suggests minor innovations, without adding fresh mechanics. We could be wrong, though.
